ANIME! ANIME! ANIME!
Hello everyone, this is your usual anime fan junkie reaching out to all the anime lovers around the world from the mini depths of the Dark Continent (Africa, just kidding) and from a small but beautiful country known as the pearl of Africa!
This time around, News Libre presents an Anime fan’s article which will be a monthly release and we will share and talk about those new catchy anime/ animations you should definitely be giving a try. It has been short and long summer for some and with that said, a lot of new anime from different anime production crews has been released over time with some still ongoing and others already done. The summer has graced us with eye catching, action packed and seemingly good story lines from different writers and artists of all nature.
There is a lot of anime out there and I can’t list them all but, am going to mention a few and maybe they will pickle through your brain cells and give you a reason to try them out. The anime being mentioned is either still ongoing or probably has already ended with available episodes for you to stream and download when you feel like it from a variety of anime websites.
Now, enough with the chit chat! These are my top 5 anime to watch out for.
Gangsta

Status: Currently Airing
Producers: Manglobe, FUNimation EntertainmentL
Genres: Action, Drama, Seinen
Duration: 25 min. per episode
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)
Viewer rating: 8/10
Plot summary
The series revolves around two “Handymen” who take on jobs for both the mob and the police force that no one else can handle. The two, named Worick Arcangelo and Nicolas Brown, work in the town of Ergastulum, which is full of mafia, hoodlums, prostitutes, and dirty cops.
Why You Should Watch It
Gangsta as an anime is an action drama which offers a good presentation for a mafia movie gone bad ass. Talk about hand to hand combat, gun fights and most cool thing sword fight scenes too. If you enjoy anime that brings out the violent nature of characters and also presents a steady and fun story that keeps evolving from episode to episode, then you should definitely watch this.
Gangsta doesn’t disappoint and with its current episode, new cool characters have been introduced to the mix. This means more bloodshed and terror for the streets of Ergastulum.

Genres: Action, Comedy, Shounen

Plot summary
This funny and hilarious anime revolves around Hotaru a girl mistaken for being a boy by many. She moves into a new apartment where she meets a mysterious man standing nearby the apartment. Hotaru decides to confront the man, who turns out to live in the neighboring apartment. This strange meeting turns into an interesting story that later leaves her involved in a toy gun competition and with her daring need to keep her secret about being a girl from leaking out.
Why You Should Watch It
This anime is actually filled with humor but don’t let that fool you. It also involves one on one gun fight battles which are intense which you will later to get to see once you decide to watch it. This fun filled story starts out like an innocent tale about friendship but later offers some good action and gun battles between teams and characters as they face off in various toy gun competitions across Japan.
Prison School

Plot summary
Hachimitsu Academy, one of the strictest girl’s academies in Tokyo, has decided to admit boys into their system. Kiyoshi Fujino is one of these new boys, but he discovers to his shock that he and his four friends—Takehito “Gakuto” Morokuzu, Shingo Wakamoto, Jouji “Joe” Nezu, and Reiji “Andre” Andou are the only male students among 1,000 girls. Even worse are the draconian laws that are still in place, which punishes even the most minor infractions with a stay in the school’s prison. A series of perverted accidents causes the five boys to be “arrested” and receive an ultimatum: either stay a month in the school’s Prison Block or be expelled.
Why You Should Watch It
This anime is what I would describe as a pervert’s dream to success of silliness and stupidity. Not only is Prison School fun and hilarious too, you can’t help it but keep watching it so as to know how the story is going to unravel as the boys put into prison school try to survive the harsh treatment from their superior student council.
Prison School is definitely worth watching though I would warn parents not to let their kids watch it. It may redefine their thinking a bit, I think………..!
God Eater
Episodes: 13
Status: Currently Airing
Producers: ufotable, Aniplex of America
Genres: Action, Demons, Fantasy, Supernatural, Military
Duration: 24 min. per episode
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

Plot summary
Set in a post-apocalyptic Japan in the year 2071. The world has been mostly destroyed by mysterious monsters known as the Aragami. An organization known as Fenrir was made to exterminate Aragami using ‘God Arcs’, weapons made from Aragami cells. Those who specialize in exterminating Aragami are known as God Eaters. Their God Arcs originally could only keep a single form, however a new type has been discovered that can switch between gun and blade form. Since then, they have been classified new-types and the previous as old-types.
Why You Should Watch It
God Eater does not only offer good visual and character development; it is a gore filled anime with the ability to keep you glued here and there as the human race in its last desperate act tries to save itself from extermination by the Aragami. The fight scenes in God Eater are awesome and so are the Aragami beasts that ravage the land killing everything in their path.
One thing though, I would say this anime has similar feel to Attack On Titan in a few ways just that God Eater is in another timeline. Nevertheless, if you enjoyed Attack on Titan then you will definitely love this one!
Arslan Senki (The Heroic Legend of Arslan)

Plot summary
In the prosperous kingdom of Pars lies the Royal Capital of Ecbatana, a city of splendor and wonder, ruled by the undefeated and fearsome King Andragoras. Arslan is the young and curious prince of Pars who, despite his best efforts, doesn’t seem to have what it takes to be a proper king like his father.
At the age of 14, Arslan goes to his first battle and loses everything as the blood-soaked mist of war gives way to scorching flames, bringing him to face the demise of his once glorious kingdom. However, it is Arslan’s destiny to be a ruler, and despite the trials that face him, he must now embark on a journey to reclaim his fallen kingdom.
Why You Should Watch It
First, Arslan Senki is epic, second it’s still epic! (LOL) Okay enough with the jokes. Arslan Senki is what you would desire from an anime with Action, Adventure, Drama and Fantasy included. The large battles that Arslan faces are not the only good thing but when you look at the anime as a whole it surely is enjoyable and feels exciting with every new episode.
If that’s not good enough for you to try Arslan Senki then am a terrible writer indeed.….
Well, that’s it for today for this anime filled article with my top 5 anime laid out as above. However, that’s not all here are a few other memorable mentions;
To Love-Ru: Trouble – Darkness 2nd Chaos Dragon (Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Seneki)
World trigger Himouto! Umaru-chan
Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai
That’s all for today until next time, the anime junkie signs out!
